Nursery facilities will be open 15 minutes prior to all church activities. A parent should call for their child immediately following the service. To limit congestion in our halls, it is suggested that only one parent call at the Nursery door for their child. Please sign-in your child by completing a Nursery Security Form located at the Nursery Welcome Desk and giving it to your child’s teacher. The teacher will give you the yellow copy of the form along with a vibrating pager. If you are needed during the worship service, you will be paged. If you fail to respond to the page, your three digit pager number will be displayed on the small screens above the exit signs on both sides of the worship platform. For the security of your child, he/she will be released only when the Security Form and pager are returned by the
parent.
Diaper bags, clothing, and other personal items must be labeled with the child’s full name. Disposable diapers are requested. An extra change of clothing is also recommended. It is suggested that preschoolers be dressed in comfortable, loose-fitting, machine washable clothing that will not restrict free movement. One piece outfits should have a snap crotch. Do not allow your child to bring personal toys or other possessions to the
Nursery.
Only plastic baby bottles are to be used in the Nursery. If your child has a food allergy or special need related to food, please notify a teacher. A special section of our Nursery is set aside for mothers who breastfeed their babies. However, since babies do not always get hungry on schedule, we ask that you pack a bottle of water in your diaper bag.
Please do not bring a child who has had a fever within the previous 24 hours. Neither sick children or workers will be allowed in the nursery. If your child develops a fever or other illness symptoms, your child and a worker will be isolated from the other children until you are able to take your child home. If a child is to receive medication during the time he/she is at church, the parent must administer it. If your child contracts a childhood disease following being in the Nursery, please inform the Nursery Director.
It is suggested that parents not visit their child’s department to “look in” on him/her. Use the hallway monitor if you need to check on your child.
Babies and creepers are transferred to older departments within the Nursery at the discretion of the Nursery Director and teachers, following consultation with the parents. All transfers will be based on the needs and abilities of the children and the space available, rather than only on age.
